Новая серия Spelling Bee Contest — общешкольного конкурса на лучшее устное воспроизведение английских слов и выражений — прошла в гимназии New Tone. По традиции конкурс стал не просто проверкой умения обращаться с английской орфографией и правильным произношением. Он призван послужить важным образовательным и личностным опытом для участников разных возрастов, отметили в методическом объединении учителей английского языка New Tone.
В нашей гимназии Spelling Bee Contest давно зарекомендовал себя как формат, который работает сразу в нескольких направлениях. В ходе подготовки ученики сталкиваются с лексикой повышенной сложности, что требует от конкурсантов системной, вдумчивой работы, самодисциплины и умения выстраивать собственный учебный процесс. Ребята учатся планировать время, брать ответственность за результат и доводить начатое до конца — особенно в условиях высокой учебной и внеучебной нагрузки, подчеркивает глава методобъединения Гулнора Умаровна Худойбердиева.
Сам конкурс стал пространством для самореализации: каждый участник выходил на сцену и демонстрировал уровень своей подготовки, опираясь на собственные знания и внутреннюю собранность. Публичное выступление перед жюри и сверстниками стало для многих важным шагом за пределы зоны комфорта и показателем эмоциональной зрелости и уверенности в себе.
— С академической точки зрения участие в Spelling Bee Contest способствует активной работе с фонетической транскрипцией, развитию произносительных и слухоречевых навыков, расширению словарного запаса и формированию языковой интуиции. Внимание к деталям, точность и концентрация — ключевые навыки, которые отрабатываются в процессе подготовки и самого конкурса, — поясняет Гулнора Умаровна.
Spelling Bee Contest — это пример образовательного события, в котором академические результаты неразрывно связаны с развитием личности. A new series of the Spelling Bee Contest — a school-wide competition for the best oral reproduction of English words and expressions — was held at the New Tone Gymnasium. Traditionally, the competition was not just a test of the ability to handle English spelling and correct pronunciation. It is designed to serve as an important educational and personal experience for participants of different ages, noted the New Tone methodological association of English teachers.
In our gymnasium, the Spelling Bee Contest has long established itself as a format that works in several directions at once. In the course of preparation, students are faced with vocabulary of increased complexity, which requires systematic, thoughtful work, self-discipline and the ability to build their own educational process. Children learn to plan time, take responsibility for the result and bring what they started to the end, especially in conditions of high academic and extracurricular load, emphasizes the head of the methodological association Gulnora Umarovna Khudoiberdieva.
The competition itself became a space for self-realization: each participant went on stage and demonstrated the level of their training, relying on their own knowledge and inner composure. Public speaking in front of the jury and peers has become an important step outside the comfort zone for many and an indicator of emotional maturity and self-confidence.
«From an academic point of view, participation in the Spelling Bee Contest contributes to active work with phonetic transcription, the development of pronunciation and listening skills, the expansion of vocabulary and the formation of linguistic intuition. Attention to detail, accuracy and concentration are the key skills that are practiced in the process of preparation and the competition itself,» explains Gulnora Umarovna.
Spelling Bee Contest is an example of an educational event in which academic results are inextricably linked to personal development. Here, victory is measured not only by the places taken, but also by internal growth, overcoming oneself and confidence in one’s own capabilities, the head of the methodological association added.
