Не для отчета, а для развития: как и почему в NewTone поменяли привычную модель открытых уроков
Ноябрь — время открытых уроков в Английской гимназии NewTone. Ими охвачены все классы школы, а на занятия приглашаются в том числе родители. Задачи — всё те же: показать, как проводят уроки педагоги и как проявляют себя в учебном процессе ученики. Но конечные цели в гимназии видят совсем по-другому.
— Важно подобрать такую форму работы, которая объединяла бы тему урока, лексику, грамматику и элементы практики. Структура занятия играет ключевую роль: как начнёшь урок — так и завершишь. Не менее важна и рефлексия, чтобы ребёнок смог понять, что он усвоил, — рассказывает о своих задачах при подготовке к уроку учитель английского языка Гулнора Умаровна Худойбердиева.
За тем, как проходит урок, внимательно следят не только представители школьной администрации, но и другие учителя. Ведь на открытом уроке проходит как проверка методических навыков педагога, так и обмен опытом: наиболее успешные наработки учителя затем перенимают его коллеги. Так постоянный аудит компетенций педагога сочетается с апробацией и внедрением новых методик преподавания и учительских инструментов.
Как это влияет на знания учеников, могут наблюдать и родители. У каждого из них есть возможность посетить открытый урок, чтобы увидеть, чему научился его ребенок. При этом важны не только успехи в академической части: например, как ученик читает, пишет, понимает на слух и говорит по-английски. В центре внимания также — умение школьника проявлять субъектность и инициативность, способности к рефлексии и к работе в коллективе.
Всё это образует своеобразную 3D-модель знаний и навыков, которые развиваются на каждом уроке, отмечает Гульнара Умаровна. Такой формат делает взаимодействие школы и семьи более прозрачным и конструктивным. Родители, посетившие такие занятия, подчеркивают, что открытый урок помогает по-новому взглянуть на учебный день ребёнка.
— Урок прошёл легко и интересно. Учительница мотивировала детей говорить на английском, удерживала внимание и вовлекала в обсуждение. Дети свободно выражают мнение и уверенно работают в группе. После посещения занятия я убедилась, что моему ребёнку комфортно и действительно интересно изучать английский язык, — делится Елена Игоревна Мастова, мама учеников 5-Б Эммануила и Даниила.
— Было очень приятно слушать преподавателя с замечательным знанием английского языка. Хотим поблагодарить за то, что приглашаете в школьную жизнь нашего ребёнка, нам это очень важно. Посмотреть и прочувствовать все то, что чувствует наш ребёнок, — говорят Диана Айратовна и Руслан Ринатович, родители пятиклассницы Софии Мустафаевой.
— Открытые уроки в NewTone — это не форма отчетности, не представление, разыгранное для посторонних глаз, а важная часть образовательного процесса, которая позволяет школе постоянно повышать свои профессиональные возможности и одновременно работает на доверие, вовлечённость и взаимодействие между родителями и школой, — подчеркивает директор гимназии Элина Артуровна Юнусметова. — Эта совместная работа помогает создать устойчивую среду, в которой ребёнок чувствует поддержку и уверенно движется вперёд.
Именно поэтому открытые уроки будут проходить в школе не только в ноябре. Фактически учителя постоянно готовы к тому, что любой их урок станет открытым: откроется дверь, и в класс войдут другие учителя и родители, отмечает Элина Артуровна. Администрация Английской гимназии NewTone приглашает родителей принять в них участие, чтобы ближе познакомиться с учебной деятельностью своих детей.
Not for a report, but for development: how and why NewTone changed the usual model of demo lessons
November is the time for demonstration lessons at the NewTone English Gymnasium. They cover all classes of the school. Moreover parents are also invited to classes. The tasks are still the same: to show how teachers conduct lessons and how students show themselves in the educational process. But the final goals in the gymnasium are seen in a completely different way.
— It is important to choose a form of work that would combine the topic of the lesson, vocabulary, grammar and elements of practice. The structure of the lesson plays a key role: as you start the lesson, so you finish. Reflection is no less important so that the children can understand what they have learned,» says English teacher Gulnora Umarovna Khudoiberdiyeva about her tasks in preparing for the lesson.
Not only representatives of the school administration, but also other teachers closely monitor the way the lesson goes. After all, both the teacher’s methodological skills are tested and experience is exchanged: the most successful developments of the teacher are then adopted by his colleagues. Thus, a constant audit of the teacher’s competencies is combined with the approbation and implementation of new teaching methods and teaching tools.
Parents can also observe how this affects the knowledge of students. Each of them has the opportunity to attend a demo lesson to see what their child has learned. At the same time, it is not only academic success that is vital: for example, how the student reads, writes, listens and speaks English. The focus is also on the ability of the student to show subjectivity and initiative, the ability to reflect and work in a team.
All this forms a kind of 3D model of knowledge and skills that are developed in each lesson, notes Gulnara Umarovna. This format makes the interaction between school and family more transparent and constructive. Parents who have attended such classes emphasize that a demonstration lesson helps to take a fresh look at the child’s school day.
«The lesson was easy and interesting. The teacher motivated the kids to speak English, kept their attention and involved them in the discussion. Children freely express their opinions and work confidently in a group. After attending the class, I was convinced that my child is comfortable and really interested in learning English,» says Elena Igorevna Mastova, mother of students 5-B Emmanuel and Daniil.
«It was very pleasant to listen to a teacher with a wonderful knowledge of English. We would like to thank you for inviting our child into school life, it is very important to us. To see and feel everything that our kid feels,» say Diana Airatovna and Ruslan Rinatovich, parents of fifth-grader Sofia Mustafaeva.
«Demo lessons at NewTone are not a form of reporting, not a presentation played out for prying eyes, but an important part of the educational process, which allows the school to constantly improve its professional capabilities and at the same time works for trust, involvement and interaction between parents and the school,» emphasizes the principal of the gymnasium Elina Arturovna Yunusmetova. «This joint work helps to create a stable environment in which the child feels supported and confidently moves forward.
That is why demonstration lessons will be held at the school not only in November. In fact, teachers are constantly ready for the fact that any of their lessons will become open: the door will open and other teachers and parents will enter the class, notes Elina Arturovna.
